Why do skeletons look so creepy?

Great question. It is kind of ironic for something that’s right there underneath our skin to be so frightening. But think about it. Most people aren’t afraid of dinosaur bones in a museum or the t-bone in a nice juicy steak. It’s the human skeleton that creeps us out. Why? I suppose it’s the fact that one day those bones are going to be all we have left. (And when I say “we,” I really mean “you,” as I’m an immortal being.) So there you go, Austin. Skeletons are so creepy because they remind us of our own mortality. No bones about it.
